Reconís Data Logger Module with Recon's charting/analysis software provides a cost effective solution to acquire, store, retrieve, and analyze fuel cell performance data at field installations. This historical data can later be viewed, quickly analyzed, and compared to lab data to determine performance, reliability, and identify events of interest.

Measuring only 1.5" x 0.6" x 0.2", a module can be easily embedded in a fuel cell system to log data, with date and time stamps, for up to 10 years. A module contains an internal microprocessor, real-time clock/calendar with backup battery, and up to 8 Mbytes of flash memory. Variable sampling periods can be chosen from 1 second to 10 minutes. The setup can be configured to record over the oldest data when all memory is filled or to maintain the earliest recorded data.

The Recon DA software allows setup and downloading from the module, directly or remotely, through a computerís serial port. Data can then be saved to a file on the computer or network, exported to Excel, viewed, analyzed, and printed. The software can also open lab collected data with its import functionality.

The software incorporates a strip chart to view data according to date and time, a load current/time distribution plot, and a polarization curve plot with output power, dissipated power, and efficiency. A least squares curve-fitting algorithm is also used to determine stack internal impedance (DC) and performance. A graphical printout can then be made to provide a convenient hardcopy of the stack performance history.
